In her eighth year at Oakland Unified School District, Lisa Rothbard serves as the Educator Effectiveness Specialist for the high school network, supporting school leaders, teacher leaders, and teachers in the critical work of teacher growth and development. Prior to assuming her current position, Lisa was a 10th-12th grade ELA teacher and instructional coach at Skyline High School. From 2005-2007, Lisa worked as the Communications Associate at Preschool California, a non-profit, advocacy organization in Oakland. That experience drove her to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy at the University of Michigan’s Ford School and a graduate school summer internship in the communications department of DC Public School’s Central Office. Lisa earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in English Language Arts, a Single Subject ELA Teaching Credential from Alliant University, and a Preliminary Administrative Credential from the REACH Institute’s Instructional Leadership Academy.
