SEL Skills and Practices for High Potential and Gifted Students

Goals and Objectives of this Course:

  • Use prompts about SEL practices for students identified as gifted, to describe assumptions and insights of practitioners, researchers and self, including how the information relates to professional education practice and growth.
  • Design or revise a lesson to meet the needs of low- and high-achieving students.
  • Create an informational artifact to collaborate with colleagues about SEL for gifted and twice-exceptional students.
  • Implement strategies from the text and resources to support underachieving students.
  • Challenge the status quo related to access to gifted education by emphasizing the need to incorporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion within gifted policies or programs.
