# Math Nerds Unite: It’s Pi Day!

Hey Mathematicians! Pi Day is finally here: a day when you can proudly honor your favorite irrational number while having an excuse to indulge in pie!

Pi Day, celebrated each year on March 14th, is more than just a celebration of the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter; it’s a spectacular acknowledgement of math nerds worldwide.

To honor your favorite math holiday, we created a list of our favorite Pi Day inspired activities, events, jokes, and more:

### Pi Day Scavenger Hunt

Ask your students to complete a unique scavenger hunt by searching within the digits of pi. Use this teacher’s hunt for inspiration, and create your own hunt that matches your students’ math skills.

### Pi Day Stand Up

Give your students a Pi Day they will never forget by wowing them with your comedic genius. Check out these jokes from Buzzfeed and encourage your students to come up with some of their own.

### Paint a Pi Skyline

If you want younger students to appreciate Pi Day, this is a great arts and crafts idea. Using graph paper, have students color in the number of squares that correspond to each digit of pi. When they are finished, they’ll have created a beautiful pi skyline.

### Pizza Bargain Shopping

Check out this fun, educational activity from Education World. Have students measure the radius and area of different sized pizzas from local pizza parlors, find the price per square inch, and discover which pizza is the best value. Then, celebrate your students’ hard work with a pizza party! Yum!

### Get a Deal

Yum! Celebrate Pi Day with a great deal on everyone’s favorite circular-shaped dishes: pizza and pie. Check out this list of the best Pi Day offers
