Choose from a pre-approved lineup of both Professional Development (PD) and Flex Credit Courses to meet your Fauquier County Public Schools renewal requirements.

Reimbursement Process: To request approval for reimbursement through FCPS complete this form by September 1. You will receive a notification about funding by September 15. Another request window will be available in early December.

Key Details:

  • Flexible Learning: Choose from a variety of self-directed Professional Development (PD) Courses & Flex Credit Courses available through the Teaching Channel. Click here to compare the two types of course formats.
  • District Support: The district will provide reimbursement for professional development courses. To request approval for reimbursement through FCPS complete this form by September 1, 2025.
  • Exclusive Discount: Get 10% Off Flex Credit courses using promo code FCPS10 when you register with your District email address.
  • Earn Graduate-Level Credits: Flex Credit courses allow you the ability to “upgrade” your Flex course within six months of completion for an additional cost to receive a letter grade and transcript. This upgrade is not reimbursable by FCPS.
  • Accredited Learning: These courses are district-approved, ensuring they meet our high standards for professional development

How it Works:

  1. Course Selection: Browse the ELPS-approved courses available through Teaching Channel and choose up to 2 courses to take.
  2. Enroll: Complete this form with your course selection. You will also be asked to share your term dates (which can be found in the form instructions).
    • After submission of form, you will receive 2 important emails that support you in accessing your course and additional information about the course.

      • First email subject line: ‘Registration Processed: Accessing Course.’

      • Second email subject line: ‘Getting Started on Your Graduate Credit Coursework!’

  3. Complete Coursework: Engage in the course materials, complete assignments, and participate in any required activities.
  4. Earn ELPS Academy Credits: Successfully complete the courses to earn up to 90 PDPs (6 ELPS Academy Credits).
  5. Salary and Recertification: Apply these credits towards your ELPS step and lane requirements for salary advancement and PDPs for recertification. Please send your letter of completion for each course to [email protected].

Our robust collection of online courses is available whenever and wherever, with our evaluators available to offer feedback and lend an ear every step of the way.

Find Your PD or Flex Course

PD Courses Only: Submission Required

To earn professional learning credit you must submit your letter of completion and your selected application work product from the Apply Page in the Learning Activities Module in your course(s).

Submit your certificate and selected application work in Frontline using the "Request Credit for an Activity Already Completed" form. You will need to upload your documents to "My File Library" and attach them to your request form.

You have up to 12 months to complete your PD course(s).

Flex Courses Only: Choose Spring Term at Checkout

You may access your course(s) immediately. Choosing Spring Term allows you more time to complete your course(s), with coursework due April 15, 2026.
