For educators of all grades and subject areas, this course aims to unpack the body of research known as the “Science of Reading” and provides specific evidence-based strategies for teaching reading. Learn how reading develops in the brain, review a framework for explicit, systematic and sequential instruction, and explore the 8 strands of Scarborough’s Reading Rope.

What university do I pick when registering?
If you are using the credits for your teaching license, you will need to pick a university in Illinois (Roosevelt University or Greenville University). If you are not using it for your teaching license, you can pick whichever university is the cheapest.
