Understanding Your Mind: Student Questionnaire

Use these questions as a guide to help you better understand a student who is acting in an angry or defiant manner. You may ask the student to respond verbally or by writing or typing his or her answers. You may choose to use only the questions that make sense for your situation with the student; however, Questions 7–11 can provide many good insights into a student’s mind.

As the student responds, remain nonjudgmental even if he or she responds to the questions with derision.
