Using Classroom Walls to Enhance Your Lessons

Interaction and engagement are top priorities with this classroom strategy: walk-around research. In this video, the teacher explains her goal of getting students up and moving toward their own learning. Using post-its and posters, whiteboards, and supplemental nonfiction texts, she provides opportunities for individuals to connect with content and increase their knowledge. By expressing themselves in response to learning and sharing with their peers, every student contributes to the powerful potential of the classroom walls. Visual learners will thrive and movement requirements support higher focus and concentration to engage all students.

Reflection Question:

How does this strategy support reading comprehension?
