The Impact of Social Emotional Understanding on Classroom Relationships

EQUIP is Teaching Channel's professional development program that helps new teachers quickly build skills and confidence in the classroom. EQUIP's new teachers gain access to an on-demand webinar featuring educational experts sharing easy-to-implement strategies on monthly topics.

October's webinar welcomed Dr. Kristina Sterling, the Educational Success Manager for Passage Preparations, to talk about how social emotional understanding can impact the student-teacher relationship. Dr. Sterling focused on SEL strategies as well as Transformative Social Emotional Learning (T-SEL) strategies for connecting with students. By using both SEL and T-SEL, this webinar explains how to empower students to be a meaningful part of the classroom and provides excerpt ideas for using both SEL and TEL to connect with students and parents in meaningful ways.
