Goals and Objectives of this Course:

  • Identify your current depth of knowledge specific to digital technology use from both a teaching and learning perspective.
  • Investigate the basics of digital technology use by investigating research-based contentions.
  • Explore:
    • Current statistics on digital and social media use by students and adults
    • Effects of digital device and social media use on adolescents
    • Findings from brain research regarding effects of screen time
    • Intentional use of digital devices as part of instruction
  • Investigate teaching and learning strategies specific to digital use.
  • Explore websites and tech tools to teach and model balanced digital use in and out of the classroom.
  • Reflect on the possibility of implementing your learning in your classroom.
