Students will gain knowledge that the Earth can be represented in many different models, as well as the skills to identify landforms, global bodies of water, and the availability of freshwater.

Meet Kathy Renfrew

Kathy Renfrew

Known online as “The Science Lady,” Kathy Renfrew is an elementary science teacher who has been teaching since 2007. Kathy was a National Board Certified Teacher as well as a Presidential Awardee in Elementary Science. In addition to a B.S. in Human Development, Kathy holds an M.Ed. in Professional Teaching and an M.S. in K–8 Science Education. Currently, Kathy is an education specialist for the Wade Institute for Science Education, an EdReports reviewer, and a respected name in the science education community. Kathy is a vocal advocate of the need for quality science instruction in elementary classrooms.

Meet Wendy Amato

Dr. Wendy Amato

Dr. Wendy Amato earned her Master’s in Education and Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia. She holds an MBA from James Madison University. Wendy began teaching in 1991, has served as a Middle School Administrator, and still teaches at UVA’s School of Education. She has delivered teacher professional development workshops and student leadership workshops in the US and internationally. Wendy and her family live near Charlottesville, Virginia.
