Goals and Objectives of this Course:
- Use prompts about building class community in the secondary ELA classroom to describe assumptions and insights of practitioners, researchers and self, including how the information relates to professional education practice and growth.
- Design a secondary ELA lesson incorporating key beliefs of motivation and engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues on ways to make secondary ELA teaching sustainable and develop a system of accountability to make this work possible.
- Implement effective reading and writing instructional strategies to support student learning.
- Challenge the status quo related to traditional ELA assessment practices by proposing new assessment methods and optimizing your instruction with student-led conferencing tools.
